Commissions & Credits

  • Sirens, composed, conduced and performed music for modern dance presentation in collaboration with celebrated choreographer Julia Ritter. 

  • A Mosaic of Cement and Barbed Wire, commissioned to write modern composition for Renaissance lute performed at the Sarah Lawrence Summer Guitar Institute.

  • Like Giants Through a Keyhole, trio for flute, cello and piano performed as part of the Network for New Music's Cross-Currents in Jazz and New Music: The Schooling and School of Stefan Wolpe series.

  • Rob was commissioned to compose a contemporary chamber piece as accompaniment to Hans Richter's 1927 Dada short film Ghosts Before Breakfast, premiered as part of the Amphibian Concert Series at the Nicholas Roerich Museum in NYC.  

  • Ideological Explosions of the Absurd Hero for orchestra was performed in Milan, Italy.

Awards & Musical Honors

  • Top 5 Finalist in the North American Rock Guitar Competition, held in Buffalo, New York, presented by Guitar Player magazine and Gibson guitars. 

  • June in Buffalo Festival for Emerging Composers, Buffalo, New York. Solo piano piece, Aerial Surveying, performed by celebrated pianist Marilyn Nonken. Studied with renowned composers Aaron Jay Kernis, Harvey Sollberger, Jukka Tiensuu, David Felder; guitar master classes with Magmus Andersson.
